Welcome to 2024!
I am an expressionist oil painter inspired by landscape, seascape, and music; My home is Beauly in the Scottish Highlands and I work from my studio at Inverness Creative Academy. I also like to paint "en plein air", as nothing beats the immediacy of being outside and connected to the subject. Photographs don't do it for me, although I often use my own sketches for reference. Recently I have become interested in painting in a much more abstract way, which offers many exciting possibilities for developing my work this year.
