Welcome to my website.
I am an expressionist oil painter inspired by landscape, seascape, music, flowers - my scope is widening! My home is Beauly in the Scottish Highlands and I work from my studio at Inverness Creative Academy. I also like to paint "en plein air", as nothing beats the immediacy of being outside and connected to the subject. Photographs don't do it for me, although I often use my own sketches for reference. Recently I have become interested in painting in a much more abstract way, which offers many exciting possibilities for developing my work.
You can see my paintings at various exhibitions (see the News page) or visit my studio by appointment. I spent a lot of years supplying some lovely galleries in Scotland and beyond, but now I am taking life a bit more easily! It's allowing me to paint what and when I want to, and have a chance to explore new directions.
